Nice write-up. I&#039;ve recently begun switching an existing GeoDjango app to Rails, and have used the same tools you&#039;ve described here. I especially want to highlight postgis_adapter for its commonality with GeoDjango&#039;s functions. One thing I would love to see is a Ruby/Rails version of GeoDjango&#039;s LayerMapping, which does import/conversion of shapefiles based on an app&#039;s models.</description>
